Norvexa exists because the two obvious options for storing a household’s data are both unsatisfying: a cloud account you do not control, or a server project that quietly becomes a second job.
The problem we are aiming at
Storage has never been cheaper and ownership has never felt more fragile. Photos, documents and decades of personal archives increasingly live somewhere that can change its terms, its pricing or its mind. The alternative — running your own machine — has traditionally demanded a level of patience that most people do not have and should not need.
Norvexa is an attempt to close that gap: an appliance that is genuinely yours, and genuinely manageable.
Where we are going
The long-term direction is a local-first home for persistent, safe and inspectable personal agents and services. Not a dashboard with widgets, and not an assistant that acts on your behalf somewhere you cannot see.
That is why the plugin platform is central rather than an afterthought. An agent should keep working when you close its window, report back only when something matters, and stay inside limits you can inspect and change.

Ownership beats access
Renting access to your own files is a bad deal, even when it is convenient. Norvexa is built so the default answer to "where does my data live?" is "in my house".

Nothing important should require a dashboard
A NAS that needs constant attention is a second job. Protection, updates and recovery should be visible when they matter and quiet when they do not.

Power without hidden actions
Plugins and agents may work autonomously in the background, but never outside declared capabilities, typed operations, confirmation and audit.

A downgrade is not a hostage situation
Editions change what a machine can do, never whether an owner can reach their own storage. Pools, files and application configuration survive.

Say what is true
No invented benchmarks, no imaginary certifications, no roadmap presented as shipped software. Where something is not finished, we say so.
